Satire Rock City is online and ready for you 24/7. Here's some of the things you'll hear (mouse over any):
Every week there's a new radio show with your curator and host Spud Davenport, every Show having a “Theme” - i.e. Oxymorons, Mental Health, Role Reversals, BEER, and the 7 Deadly Sins series, to name a few.
You're already familiar with a lot of the artists on SRC like George Harrison, Elton John, Green Day, Beck but you'll also be turned on to lesser-known artists and even some unsigned current-day artists whose music fits right in.
It's the best of both worlds - you don't listen to advertisers selling you their products AND you don't pay a cent (unlike Pandora or Spotify) in premium subscription fees to not hear ads.
Featured music runs the full Rock Satire gamut; Randy Newman to Ben Folds, Frank Zappa to System of a Down, the Kinks to Blink-182. You'll hear hundreds of artists.
We're adding in some contests on the weekly radio show. If you have what it takes to answer some music trivia, you could win some swag. Everybody wins!
Satire Rock City is the brainchild of Spud Davenport who is a published satirist / singer / songwriter / musician, on a campaign to tell America “Satire is not a dirty word”! He has some great records and bands of his own for you to hear.
As a Wise Man once commented, “Spud puts a happy face on bad times.” If the concept of a long-haired Randy Newman fronting a Rock Band from behind the drums sounds interesting to you, take a listen to Spud.
Great community of 1600 music-loving fans in Satire Rock City's Facebook Group.
Spud Davenport and Charlie Recksieck are longtime musicians/songwriters who want music (and rock) to be fun. Their debut CD, Won features 10 songs all played on terrestrial radio.
